TL;DR: A firm, earthly version of Syrah, cooler climate in style vs an Aussie Shiraz

The grapes for this wine came from three different locations in Santa Barbara County: Santa Ynez town proper, Ballard Canyon and Foxen Canyon.  Syrah thrives in all three zones and each provide an interesting expression and of the vineyards one is organic, one biodynamic and the other sustainable.  During fermentation a modest amount of stem inclusion was employed to add a layer of subtle spice and structure. After gentle basket pressing the wine was sent to neutral french oak barrels for aging prior to bottling and only minimal sulfites were added.
